IF you're a recent arrival and IF you don't have a water dispenser on your fridge, you might think the water here has an unpleasant aftertaste. Maybe different from where you came from. Pur or Brita water pitchers or the larger ones with a spigot that fit in the fridge on a shelf have completely removed that after taste at our house. And our experience is the filters last much longer than the recommended change times. Remember your fridge has its own water filter whether it has a built-in water/cube  dispenser or just an icemaker and these need to be changed periodically as well.
