The Gila Mountains Loop
Quote from admin on August 22, 2024, 10:06 pmOne of our favorite trips, pulling our travel trailer was this big loop. Heading out west from Socorro, we circled past Pie Town (it was closed that day!) and Quemado and drove counter clockwise around the Gila Mountains past Mogollon, Alma and he amazing Gila Cliff Dwellings.. This is treed landscape with few roads, old mining towns, the fascinating Catwalk, clear mountain lakes and streams, great campgrounds, stargazing and finally around to artsy Silver City (my idea of Santa Fe without the price tags). What a beautiful and diverse state!
