Michigan!

Seeing the Great Lakes has been on my bucket list for a long time. We're excited! - heading that way in a couple weeks for a driving vacation (big bodies of water in the way). I'll update this Topic when we return.

Now in Milwaukee which has a beautiful museum downtown designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calitrava. Our intention, the next morning was to cross the 80 miles of Lake Michigan to Muskegon. But morning weather reported 6' waves on this inland ocean. So we drove, instead, down thru Chicago and up the Michigan side to Pete Buttigiegs' town - Traverse City - a beautifully preserved 19th and early 20th century city. Later folks told us it was smart not to take the ferry in rough weather as it's called the Vomit Comet. Lake Michigan along this east coast is lined with miles of sand dunes, prinicipally Sleeping Bear National Park. That night we caught a concert by the very talented Martin Sexton.
